Advent Worship 2015

advent

At this time of year, so many people rush to Christmas in a frenzy. But, people of faith have long appreciated Advent as a time of hopeful anticipation.

“Now we can see the beautiful logic of Advent. Where the culture (and my heart, too, if I am honest) celebrates and holds on to the manger and the star, the shepherds and wise men, to Mary and Joseph and the Christ child, the church calls us to look for the return of the King. Advent deepens the tension between what the world was created to be and what it now is, between what God has done and what God will do.” – The Rev. Elizabeth Eaton, A Series of Advent Devotions

Advent begins on November 29 this year. In addition to our regular weekend worship schedule on Saturdays and Sundays, during the season of Advent, we also offer Holden Evening Prayer services on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm, starting on December 2.  Come early, before worship, to share meals with our guests from Operation Warm Heart, starting at 6:00 pm.
