From the Pastor:

WORSHIP AND SHELTER UPDATE: Out of an abundance of caution, an obligation to lead responsibly, and having an abundance of concern for communal well being, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church’s 10am worship service will be canceled on Sunday, March 15 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, all in person meetings held at the church – Council Meetings, Sewing Group, Bible Study, Finance etc. – will be moved to virtual meeting spaces via Zoom. Bible Study will be conducted virtually on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:30pm, Prayer will commence daily from Mon-Friday at 7am, and Fellowship/Check-In time will be available throughout the week at designated times to come. A link will be provided shortly for these virtual gatherings which are all open and available to the public. In this uncertain times, we need to gather as a community, participate in our shared humanity, and build solidarity together in creative ways.

Thursday, March 19 will the last night for Zion Rahway’s Shelter. The Elizabeth Coalition and our shelter team have been aggressively working to find housing for our 12 shelter guests. We will have housing for all of them by Thursday after which our shelter will close until further notice.

Updates and notifications about the above notices will be distributed through a variety of mediums, please share as you are able.
