Zion participates in Operation Warm Heart (OWH), a program of the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, providing temporary shelter in our fellowship hall for homeless men, women, and children during the colder months of the year.
We host our guests on Wednesday evenings from December 3, 2014 through March 25, 2015. Our guests arrive at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, and depart at 7:30 am on Thursday, with a supervisor from OWH staying the night along with our guests. We look for volunteers to:
- cook meals for Wednesday evenings,
- prepare desserts for Wednesday evenings,
- greet and serve our guests on Wednesday evenings, and
- stay with our guests until at least 10:00 pm on Wednesdays.
